What’s the Difference Between a Senior Yearbook Photo and a Senior Portrait Session?
What’s the difference between a Senior yearbook photo and a Senior Portrait Session? Quite a bit actually.
It’s really the difference between having pictures that look like everyone else and having portraits that are unique to you.
A Senior Yearbook Photo is basically a headshot, and with headshots, the focus is simply you (and more precisely your head), usually shot from the waist up and are the standard cookie cutter pictures that appear in your yearbook.
A Senior Portrait Session is much more. I look at not only who you are visually, but more so I work to tell the story of You, what You do and why You do it. I do this in many ways including a variety of styles of photography or digital art, different location shots, lifestyle shots, photos of you in action, or with items that represent a major part of your life (musical instrument etc.) The possibilities are endless and each session is customized to best reflect your individuality and uniqueness!
It’s really the difference between having pictures that look like everyone else and having portraits that are unique to you.
Senior Portrait Sessions are far more customized than a headshot session, so there are lots of factors to consider including the location(s), outfits, and accessories. Therefore, our pre-shoot appointment will be more involved and in depth in the pre-planning stages. I help you decide how to best translate your unique story into images that can be not only sent out in a simple announcement but can be used in some really cool print products such as large wall prints, books, custom cards and even cool custom booklets. You are unique, and therefore your session is personalized for you.
So, if you are looking for something special to you and that tells your unique story, then a Senior Portrait Session with Immortal Concepts Studios is the way to go!
